START WITH YOUR USE CASE

Compare what your team needs to do.

Have I Been Pwned helps people check whether an email appears in its breach records. It also supports organizations: verified-domain monitoring and APIs extend beyond the familiar public email check. [1][3]

Vuxep gives security and IT teams a workspace for investigating indexed credential evidence within domains they verify. Its workflow connects scoped searches, exposure dashboards, employee profiles, priority reasons, notifications, and redacted reporting. An organization evaluating an HIBP alternative should compare both the evidence available and how its analysts will use it.

Email and domain searchesChecks email addresses against its breach records. Domain-wide access requires verification. [1]Searches indexed credential records by owned website domain, hostname, work-email domain, or exact work email within DNS-verified scope.
Stealer-log evidenceDocuments email, website-domain, and email-domain stealer-log APIs. Access depends on the subscription and domain permissions. [2]Connects supported indexed credential records to accounts, services, and source observations in an authenticated investigation workspace.
Password handlingPwned Passwords is separate from account breach search. HIBP does not return an account’s exposed password. [1]Full available credential records are accessible in scoped search and CSV exports. Employee profiles and management PDFs redact credential values.
Ongoing monitoringVerified domains can be monitored for newly loaded breaches, with email notifications. [3]Targets newly indexed matches by domain, host, email, account, or URL. Routes grouped notifications to email, chat destinations, or signed webhooks.
Access and evaluationOffers public email checks and subscription capabilities. Review current plans for domain and API limits. [4]Provides a private organization workspace with Admin and Viewer roles, dashboards, employee profiles, priority reasons, and redacted PDF reports. Contact us for a plan.
01 / MAKE IT RELEVANT

Evaluate the account and service context.

In Vuxep, a login to your company’s website and a work email appearing on another service are separate search paths. Follow a visible work email into its exposure profile to review observed services and reuse signals. Mark critical services and privileged work accounts to make priority reasons visible alongside matching evidence.

During a walkthrough, ask to see how a finding connects to its supporting records, which values are available in the authenticated workspace, and which details are redacted from shared reports. Those questions tell you more about daily investigation work than a list of overlapping product labels.

02 / KEEP THE LIMITS VISIBLE

A match needs interpretation.

A work email in a data leak does not establish that your organization’s infrastructure was breached. An indexed credential does not prove current access. Vuxep’s first-indexed timestamp describes when a record entered its index, and available evidence may be older than that date.

Before choosing a monitoring service, agree on the domains in scope, the colleagues who need access, and the destinations for new findings. Check how dates, repeated observations, and missing results are explained. Use the result alongside your own identity and security information.

COMMON COMPARISON QUESTIONS

A few useful
distinctions.

Is HIBP the same as Have I Been Pwned?

Yes. HIBP is the abbreviation for Have I Been Pwned, also commonly written as HaveIBeenPwned. This page compares that service with Vuxep for organization use.

Does Have I Been Pwned already support businesses?

Yes. HIBP supports verified-domain monitoring and subscription features, including stealer-log APIs on eligible plans. Compare the capabilities you need rather than assuming it is limited to individual email checks. [2][3]

Is Vuxep a free HIBP replacement?

No. Vuxep is a separate organization product with a private workspace and DNS-verified scope. It is intended for teams investigating their own exposure. For a personal email breach check, visit Have I Been Pwned’s official website.

Can we use Vuxep alongside Have I Been Pwned?

You can evaluate both services as separate sources and workflows. Vuxep does not currently offer a built-in HIBP integration. Avoid adding their totals together as if every record were unique, and investigate differences in coverage, scope, and dates before drawing conclusions.

Which service finds more data leaks?

We have not established a comparative coverage benchmark. Dataset size alone does not answer whether a particular finding is relevant, recent, or unique. Evaluate records in your own authorized scope and examine their source context; neither an empty search nor a larger total proves complete coverage.
